WE ALWAYS WANT YOU TO HAVE THE SAFEST RIDE!
Your Harley-Davidson® was built to be ridden hard and ridden often, and the right maintenance is what keeps it that way. The service center at Grand Teton Harley-Davidson in Idaho Falls works on Harley-Davidson motorcycles of every era and family, from classic Evolution®-powered Sportster® models and Twin Cam® Dyna® bikes to today’s Milwaukee-Eight® Touring and Softail® cruisers, liquid-cooled Revolution® Max models such as the Sportster S and Pan America™, and three-wheeled Trikes. Whether you need a first service on a brand-new bike, a seasonal tune-up, a diagnosis for a warning light, or a full performance build, our technicians are here to help.
Our service bays are equipped for everything from routine maintenance to major repair work. Common jobs include:
Harley-Davidson motorcycles share a lot of DNA, but each platform has its own procedures, torque specifications and software. Having your motorcycle serviced at an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer means:
Riding in East Idaho means big temperature swings, mountain passes, gravel shoulders and a long winter. A few habits help your Harley handle it:
Booking is easy: use our online schedule service form, or call the service department at 208-523-1464. When you book, tell us your model, year, mileage and anything you’ve noticed (noises, warning lights, leaks), so we can plan the right time and parts for your visit. You can also contact our service team with questions, and browse our parts and service tips for more advice.
When you drop off your motorcycle, a service advisor will confirm the work you’ve requested, note your mileage and any concerns, and give you an estimate before work begins. If our technicians find something else that needs attention during an inspection, such as worn brake pads or a tire near its wear bars, we’ll contact you with the details and pricing so you can decide what to do. Nothing extra is done without your approval.
Plan ahead for the busy season. Spring and early summer are the most popular times for service in East Idaho, so booking your seasonal maintenance a few weeks early, or over the winter, helps you get back on the road on the first warm weekend.
New Harley-Davidson motorcycles come with a factory limited warranty, and many owners add a Harley-Davidson Extended Service Plan for longer coverage. Keeping up with the maintenance listed in your owner’s manual and saving your service records is the best way to protect that coverage. If you have a warranty concern or a recall notice, contact our service team with your VIN and we’ll check what applies to your bike. Ask our finance center about Extended Service Plan options when you buy a new or used Harley-Davidson.
Harley-Davidson calls for a first service at 1,000 miles (1,600 km). It’s an important visit: oil and filter are changed and key components are checked after break-in. Check your owner’s manual for the exact schedule for your model.
For most current models, Harley-Davidson’s schedule calls for engine oil and filter changes every 5,000 miles after the first service, or at least once a year, whichever comes first. Hard riding, extreme heat or a lot of short trips can make more frequent changes worthwhile.
Yes. We service older Harley-Davidson models as well as current ones, and we can inspect a used bike before you buy it. Browse our used motorcycles for sale if you’re shopping.
We recommend scheduling ahead, especially in spring and early summer when the riding season starts and service departments are at their busiest.
