Harley-Davidson Trike Motorcycles in Idaho Falls

A Harley-Davidson® Trike delivers the sound, power and open-road feeling of a Harley-Davidson with the confidence of three wheels. There’s no need to balance at stops, put a foot down on gravel or hold up a heavy bike in a parking lot, and you still get Milwaukee-Eight® V-Twin power, touring comfort and plenty of storage. Trikes are popular with long-time riders who want to keep riding for years to come, couples who ride two-up, and riders who simply prefer the stability.

Harley-Davidson Trike Models

  • Freewheeler® – a stripped-down, hot-rod style Trike without a fairing, for riders who want a lighter, more open feel.
  • Tri Glide® Ultra – full-dress touring with a batwing fairing, Tour-Pak® trunk and passenger comfort features for long trips.
  • Road Glide® 3 and Street Glide® 3 models – Trike versions of Harley-Davidson’s popular baggers with their distinctive fairings and modern infotainment.
  • CVO™ Trike models – the most premium Trikes, with exclusive finishes and features.

Riding a Trike: What’s Different?

A Trike steers rather than leans, so cornering feels different from a two-wheeler, and experienced motorcycle riders need a short adjustment period. Trikes have a reverse gear on many models, which makes parking and backing out of the garage much easier. Licensing requirements for three-wheeled motorcycles vary by state, so check Idaho’s current rules before you ride. A test ride is the best way to see if a Trike is right for you.

Why Riders Choose a Trike

  • Confidence at low speeds: no balancing at stoplights, on uneven pavement or in gravel parking areas.
  • Two-up comfort: roomy passenger seating and backrests for long days.
  • Storage: a large rear trunk in addition to saddlebags or a Tour-Pak on touring models.
  • Keep riding: many riders who find a heavy two-wheeled bike harder to manage choose a Trike to keep enjoying the road.

Thinking About Switching to a Trike?

Many Trike owners are experienced motorcycle riders who want to keep riding comfortably for years to come. If that’s you, start with a test ride in an empty parking lot to get used to steering instead of leaning, then try some familiar roads. You can also trade in your current two-wheeler: value your trade online to see how it can go toward a new or used Trike.

Trike FAQs

Do I need a motorcycle endorsement to ride a Trike in Idaho?

Licensing rules for three-wheeled motorcycles vary by state and can change, so check with the Idaho Transportation Department for current requirements.

Is a Trike a good option for touring?

Yes. Trikes like the Tri Glide Ultra are built for touring, with weather protection, storage and passenger comfort. Compare them with two-wheeled Touring motorcycles to see which suits you.
